Reiki ~ 1 hour - £40

Reiki literally means universal life force. A reiki healer channels this life force or energy during a treatment to benefit the recipient. Reiki works on three levels, the physical body, the spiritual body and the emotional body and it is possible to heal any aspect of yourself that you wish to. There are no religious aspects to reiki and the only faith you need is in yourself. Even if you are sceptical so long as you approach a reiki treatment with an open mind you should feel the benefits.

What to expect:

To begin with we will talk about what you expect and the reasons you have for wanting a treatment. The treatment starts with you lying on your back fully clothed with your eyes closed. All you have to do is relax. I will place my hands over your body at certain points working from your head down to your feet. The length of time I spend on a particular area depends on the 'pull' I can feel from it. For the last part of the treatment I will hold my hands over your body without touching you to treat the spiritual aspects of the body. I can also concentrate on specific areas, for example just the head or a problem area. These sessions can be done separately or as part of a full body treatment The whole treatment takes around 45 minutes but you are welcome to rest afterwards as long as you like. Not everyone can feel anything during a reiki healing but commonly you may feel heat or a pulse in the area being treated. Because reiki works on the emotional you as well as the physical you sometimes you may experience a flood of emotions. These could be happy or sad and are usually accompanied by a feeling of relief and a lifting of burdens.
